ARC Social Gathering 12th April – 15th April 2019
ARC Social Gathering 12th April, 4:00pm – 15th April, 9:00am 2019
The focus of the gathering is for people to come together to share spiritually, socialise and enjoy the local area.
The weekend will be hosted in Seahouses Hostel in Northumberland www.seahousesostel.org.uk This is a great venue for social gatherings, offering good value for money in a clean, well maintained facility. There is disabled access, a large enclosed walled garden – suitable for children, including a small football pitch, a kitchen and dining area, which accommodates large groups and a hall. There is also a comfy, warm living room. The bedrooms are basic, clean bunk bed style dormitories of various sizes, most using shared bathroom facilities.
On Saturday we will walk and pray the Stations of the Cross along the coastline (weather permitting) – location to be confirmed.
Saturday evening will be a social gathering with an open mic in the dining room and games in the hall for children.
On Sunday morning we will celebrate Mass together at the hostel. Sunday afternoon will be free time followed by a social evening and prayer and praise to finish.
Meals will be basic and freshly cooked in the hostel and shared in the dining area. Food will be included in the price for hostel residents. Non residents are welcome for all meals for a daily charge of £10 per adult per day and £5 per child per day, to be paid in advance.
The residential cost of the weekend, including all food is:
£32 per adult per night (£96 for 3 nights, £64 for 2 nights)
£20 per child per night (£60 for 3 nights, £40 for 2 nights)
Under 5’s free.
If you would like to book a place, deposits of £10/pp will need to be paid by 31st January 2019 with the final balance due on 15th March 2019. Payments can be made by cheque or bank transfer, details will be supplied on booking.

The bedroom sizes are 10 bed, 8 bed, 6 bed, 4 bed and 2 bed. Please state if you are booking the whole room or if you are willing to share. Please note that when we have held weekends previously it books up very fast. Booking will be made on a first come, first served basis.
Seahouses village has restaurants, cafes, a small supermarket and a petrol station. There are lots of B+B’s/camp sites and hotels in Seahouses itself, if you would like to stay elsewhere. This is a link for self catering bed-sit accommodation, opposite the hostel, called The Hides www.the-hides.co.uk
There will be plenty of time for people to explore the local area, which is a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has many Celtic landmarks including The Farne Islands (Boat trips available from Seahouses Harbour), Bamburgh, where St. Aidan is buried (3 miles) and Holy Island (15 miles). Alnwick in the nearest town (13 miles), which has a magnificent castle used to film Harry Potter and the well known Alnwick Gardens with the “World’s Biggest Tree-house”.
Please get in touch if you need any further information.
With love and prayers,
